Getting Started with Nymble Sales Lesson 3 of 8 3 min

Your first sync — and why the app works offline

Let the app download your catalog and customers, and learn why it keeps working with zero signal.

Video coming soonThis lesson’s video is being recorded — the written steps below cover everything.

The first time you sign in, Nymble Sales downloads a complete copy of your world — the full catalog, your customers, and their order history — onto your device. This first sync is the one time the app asks for a little patience, and it’s the reason everything after it is instant.

Steps

  1. Stay on good Wi-Fi for the first sync. A large catalog with lots of product images is a real download; Wi-Fi makes it painless.
  2. Leave the app open until the initial sync finishes. Depending on the size of your catalog this can take a few minutes.
  3. Watch the sync status. The app shows you when it’s syncing and when it’s up to date — once you see it settle, you’re fully loaded.
  4. From here on, syncing is automatic. The app quietly pulls updates (new products, price changes, new customers) and pushes your work (orders, edits) whenever it has a connection. You never have to trigger it.

Why it works this way

Most apps ask the internet for every screen. Nymble Sales doesn’t — it reads from the copy on your device, which is why it opens instantly and never shows you a spinner in front of a customer.

It also means offline isn’t a special mode. In a basement showroom, a convention hall with collapsing Wi-Fi, or seat 23F, the app behaves exactly the same: browse the catalog, pull up accounts, write complete orders. Everything queues on the device and syncs back the moment you’re connected again.

Good to know

  • After the first sync, day-to-day updates are small and fast — you’ll never sit through the big download again on that device.
  • If something ever looks out of date, give the app a moment on a good connection; the final lesson covers what to check and who to ask.
