The catalog: products and categories
Find any product, read a product record, and see how categories shape what buyers and reps browse.
The Catalog area is the heart of Nymble Admin — the products your reps present and your storefront sells all live here, in one place. This lesson is a guided read: find things, open them, understand what you’re looking at. (Your first edit comes in lesson 7.)
Steps
- Open Catalog → Products. This is your entire line as a searchable list. Find a product you know well — search by name or SKU — and open it.
- Read the product record. Everything the platform knows about this product is on this page: its details and description, its images, its attributes and specs, its pricing, its categories. When a rep shows this product on an iPad or a buyer sees it on the storefront, this record is what they’re seeing.
- Open Catalog → Categories. Categories are how your catalog is organized for browsing — the shelves of your digital showroom. The structure you see here is exactly the structure reps and buyers navigate.
- Peek at the rest of the Catalog group: Images (your media library — one place for every product photo), Flipbooks (page-flip digital catalogs reps can present), and Company Docs (the PDFs and files your team shares with customers).
The one-record rule
There is exactly one record per product, and everything reads from it. That’s the quiet superpower of the platform: no “website version” versus “rep version” of the truth, no reconciling spreadsheets. It also means good product data pays off everywhere at once — a better photo or a clearer description improves every channel the moment you save it.
Good to know
- The deep work — creating products, restructuring categories, bulk media — is the Catalog Management course. Today’s goal is fluency: you can find anything and you know what a record holds.
